What Will You Be Sacrificing This Year?

Will you be sacrificing a bull, camel, sheep perhaps a ram?

How much did you pay per share?

Why did you pay so much at that farm, I got it way cheaper.

Let us rather give the money away to slaughter in another country as I just bought a new sports car and I cannot afford a sheep now.

Our house will get so messy and smelly rather only the men go the farm to slaughter this year at least we get saved from all the messy jobs as I bought a beautiful new dress also and I want to look smart for Eid, not wash sheep intestines.

What will you be sacrificing this year?

Sacrifice your pride, vanity, greed, ego, lies, jealousy, boastfullness, ingratitude and arrogance as you sacrifice that sheep.

Sacrifice your nafs, anger, stubbornness, rudeness, vulgar language, desires, hours infront of the television, haraam indulgences, wastefulness, being miserly, bad habits and enmity as you sacrifice that bull.

Sacrifice your sorrow, darkness, despair, grieve, tears, heartache and pain as you sacrifice that camel.

Sacrifice the evil within as you sacrifice that animal..

Sacrifice your love for this dhuniya inorder for it to be replaced by eternal bliss..Jannah.

Let us reflect on this beautiful day of Eid-ul-Adha as we remember the beautiful sacrifice made by our beloved Prophet Ibraheem (A.S) and his son Ismaeel (A.S).

We should introspective and as you place that sharp knife on the throat of your animal let us slaughter the evil that resides in our heart, mind and soul.

Remember to also recite the amazing lesson and purpose of Eid-ul-Adha to our children and include them in celebrating the Eid of sacrifice.

What will you be sacrifice for your creator?
